riki design

Two illustrations for Ursula Labermeier's Fall 2007 Collection at riki design. I worked  as a stylist, illustrator, and website manager, among other positions. I discovered the art of slowdesign through Ursula's eye for textiles, form, and unexpected details. She created all her own patterns in her Davis studio, and a production team in San Fransisco crafted a limited edition for each season.  Her work quickly gained a following, and when I began working for her in 2005, she had four boutiques in the Bay Area (San Francisco, Berkeley, Davis, and Sacramento.) Inspired by this experience, I am considering making a limited collection of hand painted prints for surface and textiles, where line meets the skein of thread.
