2009 took shape as a cross-country move from Bay Area California to New Orleans. The color juxtapositions of my paintings come to life here in the shotgun houses and the hue of the air. My recent studies have been filled with images of the overgrown and bead-strewn telephone poles connecting the architecture. Buzzing powerlines collide with palm fronds and spanish moss throughout the city. Slow time intersects futurity. And there is the way the wires hum the humid air in a steady pulse.
